7th Annual CFB Trenton Pond Hockey Classic
CFB Trenton is known to most Canadians as the base where repatriated soldiers continue their journey home on the Highway of Heroes. Members of CFB Trenton have participated in every repatriation ceremony and have witnessed first hand the grief and loss of the military families. Together with the local community, we organized the CFB Trenton Pond Hockey Classic in support of Wounded Warriors Canada and the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation. This event will help support Canada's ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces military members, veterans and their families.

The Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation is a non-profit service organization that was incorporated on December 4, 1983. The Foundation functions exclusively for charitable purposes. It is responsible for fundraising to finance priority care medical equipment, construction, and education to benefit the Quinte Health Care Trenton Memorial Hospital and health related activities within the community. While the government funds the operating costs for the hospital, our tax dollars do not pay for much needed medical equipment.
As one of four sites of the Quinte Health Care Corporation, QHC Trenton Memorial Hospital plays a vital role in the health care of more than 160,000 people in our region, which extends a geographical region of over 7,000 sq km. On the door step of TMH, are over 3,000 military personnel and their families at 8 Wing, CFB Trenton. As the Centre of all Ambulatory Care Services, QHC -TMH is responsible for all same day surgery, the Breast Cancer Assessment Centre, all day clinics, cataract and ophthalmology services, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault - just to name a few. Over 35,000 patients are seen annually at the Emergency Department.
Help us save lives! Over $1 million is required annually to provide priority medical equipment to help our professional medical staff help us help you, when you need us the most. Your support of the Pond Hockey Classic will help fund new hospital beds for our inpatient unit. These are urgently needed to keep our patients safe from falling, help manage their mobility, provide weight management and reduce bed sores. At a cost of $9,000 each, we need your help.
