 If you would like to help at the tournament then we have several positions where your help would be key to the success of the event. We have several opportunities both indoors and outdoors. Below we have listed a description of each task and a place where you can click on any task or timings that you wish to help. What we will provide for you:

  • Private Volunteer lounge.
  • Training and support.
  • Students: We can sign off for volunteer hours. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Indoor Positions:

POSITION: Team Registration/Stats
When
: Saturday, Sunday
Roles & Responsibilities
– Help check-in and welcome teams to the event.
– Ensure all teams provide signed waiver forms and identification.
– Hand out team gifts and information packages.
– input the scores from each game into the results page

POSITION: Volunteer Registration:
When
: Saturday, Sunday
Roles & Responsibilities
– Meet & greet volunteers as they arrive;
– Check them in/out;
– Hand out their packages, sweaters, ID etc
– Direct them to their assigned tasks.
– Assist in keeping the volunteer room topped up with warm drinks and goodies to help fuel this awesome team of people!

OUTDOOR POSITIONS:

 POSITION: Scorekeepers:
When: Saturday, Sunday
Roles & Responsibilities:
– Required to be rink side during game play to keep official score
– Ensures team Captains agree with final score and sign off on score sheet at the end of each game.
– Fill in game score sheets
– Encourage all players to have fun and promote sportsmanship

POSITION: Rink Official:
When: Sunday
Roles & Responsibilities:
– Act as the on-ice official
– Will help keep games flowing, toss in puck when required and assess a penalty when needed.
– Be familiar with the rules of Pond Hockey (training provided)
– Ensure safe and good sportsmanship on the ice by both teams and all rules are followed.

POSITION: Runner/Floater:
When: Saturday, Sunday
Roles & Responsibilities:
– Gather completed score cards at the end of each game and deliver them to the tournament scheduler at HQ so scores can be updated in real time.
– Volunteer Captain & Scorekeepers may require individuals to run messages or get assistance as necessary,
– gather stray pucks and keep puck buckets topped up at each rink.
– May also be asked to assist the Ice Crew/Site Team in patching ice surfaces when required.

POSITION: Set-up:
When: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Roles & Responsibilities
– Set-up nets, pucks etc.
– Set-up banners/signage, etc.
– Set-up garbage cans, recycling bins, benches, shovels, tables, chairs, etc.
– Additional roles and responsibilities to be determined on site.

POSITION: Tear Down:
When: Friday, Sunday, Monday
Roles & Responsibilities
– Store nets, pucks etc.
– Take down banners/signage
– Collect garbage cans, recycling bins, benches, shovels, tables, chairs, etc. for pickup
– Additional roles and responsibilities to be determined on site.

POSITION: Ice Crew
When: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Roles & Responsibilities:
We’re looking for responsible individuals to assist in maintaining/cleaning our rinks.
– Experience in safely operating ATV’s and/or snow removal equipment (tractors).
– Ensure machines have adequate fuel and are report any repair issues when they arise.
– Report any ice condition issues to Ice Crew Manager.
– Keep area around the rinks, pathways clean

POSITION: Free Agent
